Abstract

|
The occurence of true knot of the umbilical cord is rare and such a knot may cause enough to be pulles tightly in utero to cause fetal death. Cases resulting in fetal death prior to the° onset of labor are believed to be especially rare. Reviewing the literature on umbilical cord complications, many complications of umbilical cords were found to cause the fetal distress and fetal death before expulsion of infants. A case of true knot of umbilical cord resulting in fetal death in utero is presented with the review of literature on the umbilical cord complications.
